Gothenburg-based Texel Energy Storage makes fully recyclable battery storage for larger use as vehicles and residential areas. The company will now commercialize its technology to the US industry with the goal of eventually replacing lithium batteries, which are used in Tesla’s electric cars, among other things. “Our technology doesn’t contain cobalt or other unusual metals, so it doesn’t consume the Earth’s resources, which will be even more important in the future,” says the company’s CEO Lars Jacobsson.
